A depiction of Quetzalcoatl

Mural by Diego Rivera in the National Palace, Mexico City, shows the artist's conception of the creator deity Quetzalcoatl. The depiction is influenced by the lore that Quetzalcoatl was blond and bearded, similar to the Spanish conqueror Hernando Cortés.
