Monument on the
edge of Mexico City's Chaptultepec Park, erected in
honor of the "Niños Héroes,"
the legendary military cadets who are said to have hurled
themselves from the walls of Chapultepec Castle rather
than be captured by the invading U.S. army as it advanced
toward the center of the capital (War with the United
States, 1846-1848).
